Hi! I’m Dhalia Pierre, a native of the beautiful Caribbean twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. I grew up surrounded by oceans and seas, and water has always been a big part of my life. I learned to swim at the tender age of two. (My parents were determined I develop the essential life skill of swimming early on!) As a teenager, I was entrusted as a lifeguard. I did that for many years before transitioning to supervisor of multiple pools. As I got older, guiding, teaching, and nurturing young children remained an unwavering passion.
After completing my first degree, I taught at a Montessori school for ten years, working with children between the ages of two and five. One day, I came across a video of an infant swimming, and it really piqued my interest! During my lifeguarding years, I had taught a few children how to swim but never babies or infants. I then promised myself my children would start swimming at six months old.
After doing some more research, I found David at WeAquatics. Unsurprisingly, both my daughter and son completed the ISR program. Watching, learning, and participating in their ISR journeys inspired me to become an instructor!
I’m elated and extremely grateful to David for giving me this opportunity. By joining the WeAquatics team, I get to be part of a life-changing experience for so many children!
