Are there competitions associated with YM classes?
Every six weeks from September to June, YM students have the option of competing in scheduled swim meets.
Is there a swimming test required to join YM?
Yes, we require a swimming test that assessses proficiency and familiarity with a few basic swimming strokes.
Where are the classes located?
On Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, we practice at Chinquapin Park Rec. Center in Alexandria, Virginia. On Tuesdays, we will practice at Trinity Washington University Center in Washington, DC.
How many times a week are the YM classes?
Four times a week.
Are YM sessions group classes?
Yes.
How long are the YM classes?
YM classes are one hour.
How will my child benefit from Young Masters?
Students will fine-tune their swimming strokes and increase their overall stamina.

What is the age range for Young Masters?
Our recommended age range is four to fourteen years old.
What is the Young Masters program?
Young Masters (YM) lessons are group lessons for our more comfortable swimmers between the ages of four and fourteen. YM is for those who know the four basic swimming strokes or who were proficient in our LTS class.
What is an Infant Swimming Resource Certification?
It’s a required certification for swimming instructors who teach infants.
What is the age range for ISR classes?
ISR lessons are available to students six months to four years old.
Is it OK to skip some ISR lessons?
While it’s OK to skip the occasional lesson, frequent absences can lengthen the process of forming muscle memory for your child.
